It is an office design project aiming to design an accelerator for Taobao, which is a branch platform of Alibaba for online shopping services. The accelerator is meant to incubate E-commerce live streaming in New York.

Alibaba has symbolized their products in animals, for instance, pig, fish, ant, cat, so I incorporate a symbol to my space: Aix galericulata, which is a migratory bird more famously known as Mandarin duck. It is well preserved in Hangzhou, where Alibaba was founded, and symbolizes solidarity. Tying with cultural importance, I translate its spirit visually to the plan layout, wall and ceiling, bringing energy and healing to the workplace.

As a Chinese based technology company, the accelerator is designed to bring this representative cultural characteristic oversee and function as a E-commerce live streaming industry prototype for foreign companies.

There are three stages going on in the accelerator: early incubation stage including filtration of live streamer candidates, incubation and training stage of live streamers, to the selection of healthy products, lectures or programs, and the live streaming stage when the products chosen are being sold to encourage consumers to develop a healthy lifestyle.

E-commerce shopping is an extreme popular industry in China incubated during the covid, when all people shop online and spend so much time watching people selling products on the screen lively. Alibaba is usually critiqued for its restless while Live-steaming shopping is an augment of the fickleness. This impetuousness would play negative role in both the employee and the consumers. Hence, instead of selling clothes or daily necessities, this accelerator specifically focuses on the live streaming shopping on a healthy lifestyle. In integrating restoring and healing effects throughout the space, the accelerator encourages the peacefulness and satisfaction on mental and physical condition.
