How do ones treasure something only after experiencing contrasts?
The exhibition is seasonally limited. Ice room would only be introduced in winter so the ice would melt slowly to form abundant shapes although, in warmer temperatures, the trace of ice melting would still remain on the gallery.
Air-conditioners are introduced into the ice room to keep the room temperature much lower than the outside, for the ice to stay stable, and also give contrast on temperatures. Opposite to people’s wishes to get warm in indoor spaces in winter, they enter a colder environment to enjoy the reflection and beauty brought by natural forces and experience the subtle changes in temperature brought by light. As people walk out of the ice room, they would feel warmer in comparison. Contrast raises illusions, but also reflections. People realize to treasure what they have right now after going through extremes.
